New Frog Found in India
Scientists in India have discovered a new bright reddish-orange coloured frog, which has been named Raorchestes resplendens. The new species has multiple glands and extremely short limbs and seems to be located only on the highest mountain peak of the Western Ghats in India. The frog was found in the Eravikulam National Park and is restricted to an area of just 3 square km near the summit of Anamudi. Despite intensive searches in suitable habitats close to the locality, the team of scientists, from Delhi University and University of Brussels, were unable to locate this species in any other place.
